The Memory Project is a charitable nonprofit organization that invites art teachers, art students, and solo artists to help cultivate global kindness by creating portraits for children around the world who have faced substantial challenges such as violence, war, extreme poverty, neglect, and loss of parents. IHA's Advanced Painting and Drawing students created portraits for girls in Afghanistan. Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history, is working tirelessly to improve the lives of girls. Our students created portraits for girls in programs supported by Malala's network.
As part of our celebration of Women’s History Month, IHA recognized a group of students in a lobby display entitled, Women of Valor Among Us: IHA Women Making History Today. We are proud to celebrate these 13 impressive students for sharing their unique gifts and talents at The Heart: Emma McElroy ʼ25 (Raise the Bar for Character in Our Community); Anne Marie Kelly ʼ25 (Take Leadership to a New Level); Samantha Sundlin ʼ26 (Make Their Home at The Heart, Then Make The Heart a Better Home); Piper Portacio ʼ25 (Make Excellence a Way of Life); Etain Moore ʼ26 (Dream Up Solutions Through Service); Meghan Long ʼ26 (Face Challenges With Grit); Carla Tobin ʼ25 (Make Friendship an Art Form); Mia Severino ʼ26 (Build the Community They Wish They Had); Erin Sullivan ʼ26 (Pioneer a Culture of Blue Eagle Pride); Malia Hamilton ʼ27 (Make Kindness and Inclusivity Their Highest Priority); Katherine Ryan ʼ25 (Confidently Command the Stage); Gabriella Tarinelli ʼ27 (Are Bold Enough to Seek the Truth); Riley Cannon ʼ26 (Are Committed to Sharing Their Passions)
