Mr. John Downey is a physical education teacher, head coach of the Cross Country Team, assistant coach of the Track & Field Team, and moderator of the Traffic Safety Squad at IHA. He received a B.S. degree from St. Thomas Aquinas, a Healthcare Compliance Certification from Seton Hall School of Law, and attended the U.S. Marine Forces Atlantic Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense School. Mr. Downey has also worked as the director of Parisi Speed School and as an instructor at the U.S. Olympic Training Center for Developmental Athletes in Lake Placid.

Mr. Downey said that he loves the sense of community at IHA, and how the school is always on the cutting edge in all aspects of education. Additionally, he appreciates the never-ending dedication and motivation of the students, teachers, and coaches to excel in all they do.
