Mrs. Maureen Layng, English and Theatre Arts Teacher, is also the moderator of the freshman class, Eagle Ambassadors, and the ACT Club. Her past roles at IHA include assistant principal for academics, director of the performing arts, and English Department chairperson.

 

Mrs. Layng graduated summa cum laude from Iona College with a dual degree in English and history and a minor in performing arts. She also holds an M.S.T. degree from Iona’s Graduate School with a dual concentration in adolescent English and social studies, as well as an M.A. degree from St. Peter's University in educational leadership.

Mrs. Layng has been at IHA since 2013 and loves the community of academic excellence, extracurricular achievement, and Catholic values fostered by IHA.
