The orphanage was in need of supplies and renovating, since it had just recently opened, and she knew she could help. Christine’s Gold Award project was to collect desperately needed medicine and supplies and send it all to Haiti. She also planned to renovate and rebuild the pharmacy already there.
“I held various fundraising events and made many presentations throughout the country,” Christine explained. “I held drives in St. Augustine parish as well as the IHA community, and also held bake sales at the St. Boniface parish. Everyone’s generosity was overwhelming. Once I arrived in Haiti in the summer, I led a team of missionaries in repainting, rebuilding, renovating, and restocking the pharmacy. Together, we were able to bring the pharmacy to its full potential, consequently benefitting not only the children who are in great need of the medicine, but also the brothers who spend every day of their lives serving the children.”
