New IHA Records in Track

The IHA Track Team has racked up some impressive wins this season and, in the process, broken school records in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m!

Elizabeth Burgess ʼ25, Piper Portacio ʼ25, Veronica Costello ʼ25, and Paige Burgess ʼ25 (pictured left to right in group photo) earned a silver medal at the Bergen County Championships in February 2025, and in the process broke a school record which has stood since 2008! The team finished the 4x400m with a time of 4:02:12. The previous record of 4:02:24 was set by Kaitlyn Cooney ‘08, Michelle McCourt ʼ10, Sarah Pagano ʼ09, and Julie Sinkovitz ʼ10 at the Eastern States in 2008.

Piper Portacio ʼ25 also broke an IHA school record in the 200m with a time of 25.03. Jennifer Pash ʼ12 set the previous school record in 2011 with a time of 25.36. Additionally, Piper broke an IHA record in the 400 meters race, running it in 58.10 earlier this year. This breaks the previous record of 58.8 set by Jennifer Pash set back in 2012.

Congratulations Piper, Elizabeth, Veronica, and Paige on these impressive accomplishments!
