Black History Month

Members of IHA’s Black Culture Club created an impressive display in the school’s main lobby for the month of February to celebrate Black History Month. This year, some of the featured women highlighted in the exhibit included Bessie Coleman, the first female African American pilot; Mae Jemison, former NASA astronaut, physician, and engineer; and Daisy Bates, journalist and civil rights activist.

Thank you to the club members who curated the lobby display, especially executive board members Madison Assanah ’25,  Brenna Auguste ’25, Penelope Fleming ’25, Shoshana Thompson ’25, Amelia Meade ’25, and Chloé Peña ’26; and club moderator and social studies teacher, Dr. Sue Kenney.
