According to Mu Alpha Theta founder, Dr. Richard V. Andree, the society is “an organization dedicated to promoting scholarship in mathematics and establishing math as an integral part of high school and junior college education.”
The ceremony began with welcoming remarks by Mrs. Elizabeth Kearns P’05, ’08, ’11, Mathematics Department chairperson and Mu Alpha Theta moderator. Current society officers include Riley McGovern’22, president; Sanaiya Villanueva’22, vice president; Rania Hart’22, chapter officer; and Sarah Vella’22, chapter officer.
