This program's mission is to inspire, mobilize, and collaborate with communities abroad to achieve their own health and economic goals. During the October Zoom presentation, they talked to students about how engineers are solving worldwide problems, specifically in Nicaragua.
Mr. Erik Werner, president of Squads Abroad, and Julio Granados, a civil engineer in Nicaragua, explained how communities abroad are being helped by engineers to design community water systems and infrastructure. The students were curious about the materials used to transport the water to communities, how they are testing the water quality, and how they are using Google Earth, SketchUp, and GPS mapping in different regions.
