Six of the dogs and their handlers were from Therapy Dogs of Tenafly and one was from the Bright and Beautiful organization. The students had the opportunity to visit with the dogs during both lunch periods. Their visit came the week before midterms; guidance counselors hoped the dogs would help students alleviate their stress and anxiety as they prepared for exams. Ms. Ellen Donoghue’76, the guidance counselor who brought the idea to IHA, said the girls loved it and the “expressions on their faces were priceless.”
Thank you to Isabel Almonte and Louie, Susan Smith and Leo, Margaret Hliboki and Jasper, Jessica Gotthold and Tonka, Pamela Marzano and Charlie, and Karen Koehler and CJ, all of Therapy Dogs of Tenafly, and Susan DiGregorio and Rosie of Bright and Beautiful.
